Why Mobile Bills Aren't Accepted

Not Location-Specific

Mobile phone services are not specifically tied to a registered geographical address. You can use your mobile anywhere, making it unsuitable as proof of where you live.

Regulatory Requirements

UK Money Laundering, Terrorist Financing and Transfer of Funds Regulations 2017 require address verification to be tied to a specific location.

Important Note

Most companies, government agencies, and banks will not accept a mobile phone bill as proof of address for this reason. This is a widely adopted standard across the UK.

  • Gas bill (within last 3 months)
  • Water bill (within last 3 months)
  • Landline telephone bill (within last 3 months)

  • Bank statement (within last 3 months)
  • Credit card statement (within last 3 months)
  • Council tax bill (current year)
  • Electoral roll confirmation
Insurance & Legal
  • Motor insurance certificate (current)
  • Home insurance policy (current)
  • Tenancy agreement (current)
  • Mortgage statement (within last 12 months)
Other Official Documents
  • GP registration letter
  • HMRC correspondence (within last 12 months)
  • Benefits letter (within last 12 months)
  • TV Licence (current)
